Hello, weekenders.
I dont know about you - but I am a lover of the full moon. All month I look forward to sleeping and living under the golden warm light and beauty of a full moon. Both my garden and the wild animals and spaces at Sugarloaf Cottage become alive and re-energised. It is a time I reflect and set intentions, release all that no longer serves me and of course, cleanse my house and put my crystals on the windowsill.
We had our full moon last night, and on this coming Monday 21st March AEST, we have our Autumn Equinox here in the southern hemisphere [spring equinox in the northern hemisphere]. With the moon in Virgo, I feel like a more positive and grounding shift in energy is coming for all.
The last two years have been hard for almost all - but with this moon and the upcoming equinox, there is a universal calling nudging us all to pause, become present and tune in to our mental state in order to bring back balance and harmony.
This weekend take some time to ask yourself "How am I doing…really?" There's a lot going on in the world right now that feels scary and out of our control. It's a hard time for humanity, the planet and our animal friends, to put it mildly, which can stir up feelings of anxiety, overwhelm, and uncertainty.
The Virgo full moon is a supportive beacon. Generous Virgo is the sign of selfless service, but it also rules wellness and self-care. This space between the full moon and equinox [which is from now till Monday] is about finding a healthy balance between giving to others and giving to yourself.
Equinox means "equal night," and with the Sun on the equator, every time zone around the globe is receiving the same fair share of light. This unifying vibe fits perfectly with modest, caring Virgo - and it is the perfect time to focus on balance by fueling ourselves and the world with a little positivity and in turn, shifting the negative energy.
There are so many people in need right now, from the Ukrainian refugees who lost their entire worlds in a matter of days; to both you and me who are still trying to process the emotions of the last two years. We're still dealing with a pandemic, an increase of natural disasters and the personal and economic fallout from these events. Homelessness is at an all-time high and the world continues to become more unbalanced as the rich and self-entitled continue to get richer and shameless whilst the vulnerable and poor get poorer and taken advantage of.
We can't help but feel the weight of the global suffering, no matter how closely it touches our actual lives.
This Virgo full moon nurtures us and supports us, giving us the strength to contribute something positive back into the starving world - including something positive and loving for ourselves . If you are a natural giver make sure that for every act of service you do, do one act of self-care in return. This can be as simple as taking an afternoon nap instead of drinking more coffee, doing a meditation, writing in a journal, going for a walk, or taking time to prepare a nourishing meal.
If you have not been impacted by any events of the last two years, it's important to remember that it's not selfish to keep living your life—in fact, that's an act of preservation. Stopping your own progress will not likely change the horrifying circumstances our world is currently enduring - in fact, your happiness feeds more positivity, light and joy back into the world.
The message of the Virgo Full Moon is that the cycle of life will always go on. We must remain in that flow, even when hard times and uncertainty arise, and when there are so many overwhelming circumstances to process. However, focusing on self-care, self-resilience and "the little things" in life is a gentle form of meditation.
The earth spirit of Virgo is drawn to the simple and ordinary things, so this weekend with the moon in Virgo and the equinox upon us take time to focus on the small things that matter to you to amplify positivity, love and balance in both the world and yourself.
Below I have attached my moon meditation, my moon journal plus some simple ways to embrace the ordinary and create space for balance, abundance and harmony to flow back into your world.
This weekend carve out some time and space to focus on the simple things that connect you with the harmonising energy of the Virgo moon and equinox.
Have a great weekend, give yourself permission to become a wild and free moon child living in sync and harmony with the Virgo moon. Stay safe, well and may you live your life with ease. With gratitude Claire
