"There is a voice that doesn’t use words. Listen. Your gut knows what’s up, trust it.” - Anonymous

Hello, weekenders.

Hope wherever you are on the globe you are doing wonderful this weekend, and if you are not doing so great then I send from my heart to yours some love and light while you navigate through the hard times.

Do you ever get red flags, a feeling in your stomach or an inkling that something feels either not quite right or alternatively maybe it feels absolutely positive and meant to be?

Do you wish you had your own guiding force or superpower that enabled you to feel what decisions to make, who to trust, where to go from here and so forth?

Intuition feels out of reach for many, and it is one of the most popular topics that draw intrigue and interest on my blog and at my yoga retreats; because truthfully for most of us we want to know that we are supported and guided on our journey through life.

No matter who you are or where you are  – you have the power to tap into your intuition to seek guidance and support. All the wisdom and guidance is available to you - you just have to get quiet enough within to be able to connect with it and hear it.

This week I am excited to bring to you my very first Soulful Conversation where I talk with Robyn on how to learn to tune in, listen and trust your own intuition and guiding force. During this 45 minute conversation with Robyn Louise from Stardust Readings, we talked about what intuition is, how to recognise it, what signs and signals to look for and so much more.

I truly hope this weekend that you listen and enjoy this conversation and that it inspires you to trust your own inner knowing much more. I personally know for myself it reinforced the importance of trusting the red flags when they arise within; as something I tend to do is constantly make excuses for people's bad behaviour and give them the benefit of the doubt only to be burnt by them further down the road - I am sure I am not alone in that [lol].

We all have that internal knowing. So how do we tune in and trust our own internal knowing? A few ways to hear the voice of intuition are:

1. Breathe, relax, and clear the mind. Get clear on what you want, what matters to you, and stop focusing on what you can't change.

2. Get to know your true self. Take the time to learn and discover what you love, believe, and so forth. If we don't take the time to know ourselves, then modern culture will tell us how we should think, feel, and act. And when you know yourself, it is then that intuition can guide you.

3. Look for the signs and signals. Watch for coincidences and notice the red flags, the goosebumps and that inkling within. Take note of all the books that fall off the shelf in front of you.

4. Trust the process. Trust in your own voice and in your own knowing.

5. Train it. The more you use it, the stronger it will become.

This weekend try and find some stillness within and see if you can identify some ways your intuition communicates with you - it may be through feelings, smells, a knowing, goosebumps, signs, signals, opportunities and so forth. The more time we spend trying to listen and understand how our intuition communicates with us the easier it becomes to tune in, listen and trust it.

If you would like to listen to the Awakening Your Intuition podcast you will find a link to it just below, plus there is also my latest meditation for releasing anxiety.

Have a great weekend allowing yourself to be guided and re-orientated as you follow the lead of your intution.

With gratitude
Claire

This Week At Sugarloaf Cottage

Due to all the rain, we had a flash flood in our creek where it went from 3 metres wide to almost 40 metres wide. Many of the wombat burrows are situated along the creek and got flooded when the waters rose almost instantly.

Wombat burrows have chambers and often go up and down which also means that wombats may be trapped in a chamber due to the lower chamber being flooded. This means they can not get out - and if the burrow is flooded for too long they will eventually die slowly and painfully of starvation.

Wombats are clever little beings and know when the rain is coming days and even weeks before us humans do -  it is common to see them relocate to another burrow or be busy with some home renovations by digging trenches out front of the entrance. However; unfortunately they can't predict flash flooding and can get caught off guard.

The flash flood happened about 9.30 pm so hopefully, all the wombats were outside burrows feasting on the grass in their feeding territories - however, just in case Eric and I spent a few days pumping out as much water as we could from many of the burrows by the creek.

Where all these wombat burrows are we call this zone wombat city as it is a bustling little community with many burrows and many tracks going in all directions. We have put up night cameras and it is very fascinating and at times hilarious watching the night activities and shenanigans of the wombat city residents.

My Favourite 6 Ways To Tie A Scarf

One of the things I love to do when travelling is to buy a scarf from the destinations that I have visited. Handmade scarves have soul and character, and in my opinion, are so much better than so many of those mass-produced souvenirs.

I love a simple and clutter-free home, and that includes my wardrobe.  I love the freedom and breathing space a decluttered home and wardrobe brings me which is why I have learnt over time the importance of refusing to buy into fashion trends, and I find that a more simple style that can be slightly altered with a scarf works well for me personally.

A collection of scarves is timeless – you can never go wrong. Just like the classic black jacket or black dress, a colourful scarf can turn a plain dress or shirt into something unique, fun or sophisticated.

The scarf falls beautifully,  allowing for innumerable styling possibilities that transform the look depending on how you wrap the scarf around your neck. An original and one off-piece, the scarf adds a beautiful dose of colour and style to an outfit.

So if you find yourself being a slave to fashion and buying something new almost every weekend (like I once did), maybe you may want to reconsider your spending habits (and how you spend your time). Instead of buying those 4 dresses in a different colour just because they are on sale, buy one dress and then get creative by thinking of all the great ways you can change the look with the different colour scarves you have collected over your travels.

If you are new to scarves and have no scarves at all or at least none you like - then instead of buying the dress go shopping for a beautiful scarf that you love.

I spent some time photographing a few of my personal favourite ways to wear a scarf – I hope it gives you new ideas and inspiration on how to wear a scarf.

My Thought Of The Week

The small little steps you make today get you closer to your dreams and goals of tomorrow.  Big goals and dreams can be overwhelming, and when we look at the big picture this can often result in us never starting. Instead, break it down into small steps. Implement small little steps that you can commit to - for every step you take brings you closer - even if it is only 10 minutes a day that you can commit to.

Take a step today and you will be one step closer to your dreams of tomorrow
